Recently, FT Island decided to sing “Neverland,” the opening music of the animation Ozma that celebrates the 20th anniversary of Japanese broadcasting system WOWOW. Ozma is written by one of the great cartoonists in Japan, Matsumoto Reiji, will broadcast its first episode on March 16th.
Matsumoto Reiji is famous for his sci-fi works Galaxy Express 999, Space Battleship Yamato, and Space Pirates Captain Herlock. But among all that, Ozma draws attention for it was written in 1980s, yet never been revealed until today.
“Neverland,” which has now become the opening music for Ozma, is composed by FT Island’s Choi Jong Hun and is known as a rock with fast beats.
However, it is not the first time for FT Island to perform an animation theme song. The group’s “Satisfaction” which was released in April last year was also selected as ending music for Toriko that was broadcasted by Fuji TV.
FT Island says, “We’re so excited to sing a theme song for the new animation of the famous Matsumoto Reiji. Since ‘Neverland’ is an up-tempo music as if dashing toward the future, we believe that it will go well with the opening. We’re also looking forward to the opening video.”
Currently, FT Island is winning first place on various music charts in Korea with their song “Severely.”
